TIPS OF TEACHING READING SKILL (PART 2)

What kinds of reading texts should students read?

In determining the reading text, the teacher should know who the students are, so that the teacher can give different types of the reading text, such as; if the students are all business people, the teacher may concentrate on business text. If they are science students the teacher may prioritize on the reading scientific text. Consider the following:

1. Non-Fiction Text: report, editorial, essay, article, reference.
2. Fiction Text: novel, short story, joke, drama, poetry, etc.
3. Letter: personal letter, business letter, etc.
4. Journal, magazine, newspaper, etc
5. Etc.
